Bishop Scholarship:
Project PAUL announces new scholarship program
Project PAUL, a community service agency serving the needy in the Bayshore area, is pleased to announce the creation and receipt of the Bishop John M. Smith Scholarship.
This fund will aid a low-income single mother working towards a college degree. To be eligible for the scholarship, the student must be enrolled in the Project PAUL Educational Support Program and must have completed 75% of the credits required for her degree.
The scholarship is funded by contributions from this year’s graduating class of the Diocese of Trenton’s Institute of Lay Ecclesial Ministry.
"This scholarship will have a positive and permanent impact in the recipient’s life by lightening her burden, helping her graduate and enabling her to provide a good example and better life for her children," stated Lionel Menard, Executive Director of Project PAUL. "We are grateful for all the supporters of our educational support program. This program is presently supporting 20 single mothers."
If anyone is interested in contributing to the Bishop John M. Smith Scholarship Fund or the educational support program, they can contact Lionel Menard at 732-787-4887 or at projpaul@aol.com.
